Schule Family Office: the family CFO
An owning family usually has several companies, properties, loans and advisers, and no overview of the whole. The bank sees the accounts, the accountant sees the company, the lawyer sees the contract; nobody sees everything. The family CFO is that one person: builds and maintains the overview of all assets and liabilities, reports to the family monthly, brings order into ownership, prepares the handover to the next generation and coordinates banks, accountants, lawyers and notaries. We do not manage your money and we do not advise on buying securities. We run the numbers, the order and the decisions; you choose the bank and the lawyer. It starts with the family balance sheet: within 30 to 60 days the family sees everything in one place for the first time and decides what comes next.

What you get
- One overview of all family assets and liabilities: companies, shareholdings, properties, loans, guarantees, contracts
- A monthly one-page report to the family, in the owner's language, not the accountant's
- Order in ownership: who owns what, through which company, under which agreement between family members
- A plan for the handover to the next generation, written before circumstances impose it
- One counterpart for banks, accountants, lawyers and notaries, instead of a family piecing advice together on its own
- When the family decides to sell, raise capital or invest, the preparation runs through Schule Kapital
What we do
Family balance sheet (the entry point)
An inventory and valuation of everything the family owns and owes: companies and shareholdings, properties, loans and guarantees, agreements between members, assets in Montenegro and abroad. The output is one document and one meeting at which the family sees the whole for the first time. Timeline 30 to 60 days.
Monthly report to the family
One page a month: what has changed, which obligations fall due, where the risk is, which decisions are waiting. No balance-sheet codes. A meeting with the family once a month and availability between meetings for urgent decisions.
Order in ownership
An ownership structure that can be explained in two sentences: a holding or individual companies, shares per member, the agreements that govern the relationships, rules for members joining and leaving. The lawyer drafts the legal documents; we provide the numbers and the structure and lead the process through to signing.
Succession plan
Who takes over what, when and on which terms; what stays in the family and what is sold; how members who do not work in the company are provided for. A valuation of the company and the shareholdings per IVS and RICS standards as the basis for the division. The plan is written with the family, not for the family.
Coordination of banks and advisers
Banks, accountants, lawyers, notaries and tax advisers each do their part; we hold the whole, the deadlines and the sequence. We prepare the material for the bank, check what the family is signing and translate the advice into one decision.
Preparing a sale, a capital raise or an investment
When the family decides to sell the company or part of it, to bring in an investor or to invest in a new project, the preparation and the negotiations run through Schule Kapital: preparing the project for capital and an investment partner through to signing.
How we work
- Conversation - 30 minutes, no charge. Who is in the family, what the family owns, what troubles it and what it wants in five years. A confidentiality agreement before any document.
- Family balance sheet - 30 to 60 days. Collecting documents, conversations with family members and the existing advisers, one overview of the whole, one meeting with the family.
- The family's decision - On the basis of the balance sheet the family chooses what comes first: order in ownership, a succession plan, preparing a sale or an investment. Each step has a written scope, timeline and price.
- Family CFO - A monthly rhythm: report, meeting, coordination of advisers, decisions. The engagement lasts as long as the family wants it; it ends with one month's notice.
Pricing
Family balance sheet from 1,500 EUR. Family CFO from 1,000 EUR monthly. Succession plan and order in ownership by scope, with the price set before the start. No hourly billing. Only the family pays us: we take no commission from banks or from sellers of financial products.
Why Schule
One counterpart for the whole
The family has an accountant, a banker and a lawyer. It has nobody who sees everything and answers for the whole. The family CFO is that role.
Numbers first-hand
Valuations, transfer pricing, due diligence and forensic analyses we do ourselves, in-house. The family balance sheet does not depend on someone else's estimates.
No conflict of interest
We do not manage money, we do not sell financial products and we take no commission from banks. Only the family pays us.
Discretion
A confidentiality agreement before the first document. We do not cite families as references. What we know about the family stays in the family.
Questions about the family CFO
- What is a family CFO?
- A finance director for the family instead of for the company. Keeps the overview of all family assets and liabilities, reports to the family monthly, brings order into ownership, prepares the handover to the next generation and coordinates banks, accountants, lawyers and notaries. The family gets one counterpart for the whole.
- Do you manage our money?
- No. We do not manage assets, we do not advise on buying securities and we do not hold your money. Those are activities that require a licence from the Capital Market Authority and that banks and licensed firms perform. We run the numbers, the order and the decisions.
- Who is this for?
- For an owning family with several companies, properties or loans and no single overview of the whole; for a family facing the handover of the company to the second generation; for a family with assets in Montenegro and abroad; for an owner who wants to know what the family owns and owes before deciding on a sale, an investment or a division.
- What is the family balance sheet and how long does it take?
- An inventory and valuation of everything the family owns and owes, in one document, with one meeting at which the family sees the whole. It takes 30 to 60 days, depending on the number of companies and documents. From 1,500 EUR.
- How much does a family CFO cost?
- From 1,000 EUR monthly, depending on the number of companies, banks and advisers to be kept together. The price is agreed before the start and does not change without your consent. No hourly billing.
- How are you different from private banking?
- The bank sees what is in the bank and offers its own products. The family CFO sees everything: companies, properties, loans at several banks, agreements between members. Sells nothing and is paid only by the family. We work with your bank, we do not replace it.
- How do you work with our lawyer and accountant?
- They stay. The lawyer drafts the documents, the accountant keeps the books, we hold the whole, the deadlines and the sequence and translate their advice into one decision for the family. If the family has no lawyer or accountant, we recommend one, and the decision is yours.
- What if the family has assets in several countries?
- The family balance sheet covers assets abroad as well, with the documents the family has. For tax and legal questions in another country we bring in advisers from that country; we coordinate and hold the whole.
- How do you protect confidentiality?
- A confidentiality agreement before the first document. Only the team on the engagement sees the material. We do not cite families as references and we publish no examples, not even anonymized ones.
